Migrant Help is proud to announce that it is one of the four national organisations to receive the dedicated national grant to provide immediate and free support for vulnerable people in their transition to an eVisa. The other organisations are Citizens Advice Scotland, the Welsh Refugee Council, and Advice NI.

As the Home Office begins the conversion to a digital immigration system where physical documents will be replaced by an online record of individuals’ immigration status, Migrant Help will be supporting vulnerable clients who may find it difficult to manage this process themselves.

Commenting on the grant, Migrant Help’s Deputy Director of Strategic Programmes, Chris Hammond, said: “This grant gives us an opportunity to reach vulnerable people and ensure that those who might otherwise struggle to access their eVisa will be able to make this transition.”

“Migrant Help has extensive experience in providing similar services and is currently delivering support for vulnerable EU citizens applying for settled status through the EU Settlement Scheme. We will build on the success of this programme and utilise our extensive, national network of local charities and support organisations to make sure that anyone who needs to access this service can do so. We will ensure that clients who require support can be assisted face to face to set up their UKVI account and access their eVisa.”
